ABOUT US

Puppet Stuff Canada is Western Canada's only full time puppet creation studio. Founded in 2021 by Brendan James Boyd and Reese Scott, what started as a small online supply store quickly grew into a resource for professionals seeking all aspects of puppetry services. Our work has been seen in major film and television productions, commercials and theatrical performances across the globe.

BRENDAN JAMES BOYD

Brendan James Boyd, Puppeteer, Puppet Fabricator Builder Maker, Director and Filmmaker at Puppet Stuff Canada

Brendan James Boyd (he/him) is a puppeteer, puppet builder and filmmaker whose nearly two decade long career has spanned from local puppet theatre productions, all the way to working on international films & television. Whether it's helping make a 16 foot tall marionette climb a 41 story building, or performing and fabricating puppets on Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock on Apple TV+, Brendan's commitment to making puppetry his career continues to take him to new heights. Brendan is also an accomplished Director for stage and film, often utilising his expertise directing primarily puppet media and live puppet performances. Outside of his work as a puppeteer and puppet builder, Brendan is an award winning filmmaker and special effects artist, having won multiple awards for his work in the comedy-horror genre. He co-founded Puppet Stuff Canada and is the current co-project coordinator and live entertainment director for the company.

Reese Scott

Reese Scott (he/him) is a multi-disciplinary puppeteer and puppet fabricator from Alberta. With a passion for puppet performance that was sparked in his youth, Reese began his professional career at the young age of 16, appearing in his first province wide television ad campaign. Since then, he has gone on to demonstrate his exceptional puppetry skills in numerous projects on stage and screen. Recently, he had the pleasure of joining the cast of Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, on season 2 of the show, currently streaming on Apple TV+. Outside of puppetry, Reese is an accomplished illustrator and visual artist. Reese is Co-founder of Puppet Stuff Canada where he is the current co-project coordinator, head of puppet finishing and the social media coordinator.

MEGHAN SCHECH

Meghan Schech, Puppeteer, Puppet Fabricator Builder Maker at Puppet Stuff Canada

Meghan Schech (she/her) is a retired aerial circus artist turned puppeteer from Edmonton, Alberta. With a background in musical theatre, rock & roll, and hanging from the rafters, she brings a unique skillset to the performance medium of puppeteering. She joined Puppet Stuff Canada in 2022 as a brand new puppeteer, and has quickly become one of the lead puppeteers on the team. She has gone on to puppeteer in many live performances including The Boo Revue, as well as on screen for projects such as Michif Makers (2024).

SARAH MCPHEE

Sarah McPhee (she/her) is a puppet fabricator, puppeteer, illustrator and animator from Okotoks, Alberta. A graduate of the Visual Communication Design program at the Alberta University of the Arts, Sarah's intrinsic eye for animation led her to exploring the world of puppetry. She joined Puppet Stuff Canada in 2022 as an intern and quickly became one of the full time lead fabricators and lead puppet wranglers. She made her performance debut in 2023 as The Cat in The Boo Revue and has since gone on to puppeteer in numerous film and live productions.

KEVIN KUZYK

Kevin Kuzyk (he/him) is a prop builder, special effects artist and puppeteer from Alberta, Canada. He began by creating detailed costuming for personal cosplay projects and his excellent skills and attention to detail quickly led him to working professionally in the arts. From 2016-2018 he was the lead fabricator for The Odd-Lot Puppetry Co, during which time he appeared with them on the German television show Die Puppenstars and was also a puppeteer for the province-wide fundraising campaign for the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He was part of the team behind the practical effects for the horror comedy Five Course Meal, which won multiple awards at genre horror films across the globe. Kevin was also part of the props team for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Kevin is currently lead prop fabricator as well as a puppet performer at Puppet Stuff Canada.
